This is a video from a team in Denmark. It has English subtitles, and using this method, I taught Belle to back around me in a couple of sessions.
Increasing Rear End Awareness
Kikopup demonstrates how to use a book (you could use a platform of any suitable height) to teach rear end awareness.
Half Spin and Back Through Handler's Legs
Donna Hill does an excellent job demonstrating clicker training and back-chaining in her YouTube videos. This video shows how to teach your dog to turn at a distance and back through your legs.
Turn Away
Pam Marxsen demonstrates using a platform to teach your dog to turn 180° and face away from you.
Dog Walks in Front of Handler
Pamela Marxsen and Twix do a terrific job of demonstrating how to train your dog to walk ahead of you.
